2021 BMW M3 Review

2021 BMW M3 Review

Using the underpinnings of the 3 Series sedan, the 2021 BMW M3 hits the market with performance-minded features, spectacular engine options, and a variety of desirable features. Drivers in Jackson, Clinton, Ridgeland, and Madison can find out more about the new BMW with this in-depth 2021 BMW M3 review from BMW of Jackson.

BMW M3 Performance

The M3 sedan features a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, which shuttles power through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. The Competition package provides a more powerful engine option that produces 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. The Competition engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is available.

Several performance enhancements are included for the M3, such as adaptive dampers and an adjustable brake pedal. You can get some additional performance features, such as carbon-ceramic brakes with gold-painted calipers and an optional M Drift Analyzer, which measures your drift time, distance, and slip angle, then provides a score.

BMW M3 Interior and Exterior

One of the signature features of the M3 is the distinctive M badging and trim details that appear throughout the interior. Otherwise, the cabin shares the same advantages as the 3 Series, including comfortable, heavily padded seats, ample head and legroom, and soft-touch materials like carbon fiber and microsuede.

The exterior has a similar combination of racing style and luxury looks, complete with a vertical kidney grille, a sculptured hood, adaptive LED headlights, and a new bumper design with a streamlined spoiler. The M3 is more dynamic, thanks to a carbon-fiber roof with aerodynamic fins, standard M mirrors, and side gills designed to reduce wind resistance.

BMW M3 Technology and Safety

The M3 comes with a sharp BMW infotainment system that uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen for entertainment, as well as a rotary knob and buttons on the console. You’ll also have Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, so you can stream music, podcasts, and audiobooks through the car’s onboard system. A Harman Kardon® sound system, a one-year subscription to satellite radio, and multiple charging ports are also included. Several options are available, including a wi-fi hotspot, a wireless charging pad, and gesture controls for your infotainment system.

For safety, the M3 includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a feature that alerts you to vehicles in your blind spots as you pass or reverse. Lane Departure Warning and Active Lane Keeping Assistant are also included. They alert you if you begin to drift out of your lane on the highway and gently guide you back. Available adaptive cruise control is a helpful feature that lets you set the distance from the car ahead and maintains it on cruise control.
